A M F Building Products received a job for a special-sized plug-in ball finial. Because the project location was near the ocean, we required the ball finial to be cast in marine grade aluminum. We called upon Alloy Casting to turnkey the project from prototype samples to production, including baking to reduce any outgassing during the subsequent powder coating step. The ball finial came out just as we had expected and the (property owner) was very satisfied with the castings.
Wheeler Ornamental Iron was awarded a project for a dining hall expansion at Troy University, Troy, Alabama. All items were fabricated in corrosion resistant marine grade exterior aluminum alloy 535. We called upon Alloy Casting to turnkey the original castings from pattern and tooling fabrication through production castings. The project was successfully completed in a timely and cost effective manner. Since that time, we have called upon Alloy Casting for many other aluminum casting projects.
As the owner and operator of Baker Golf Aids, I appreciate the craftsmanship and reliability of Alloy Casting. We have done several projects with Jon and his team, and each one required different skills and varied scheduling requirements. Over the years, the company’s timely production has been very beneficial to my company. Below are pictures of some of the various projects we have initiated with Alloy Casting.
We were requested by the city of Union City, NJ, to fabricate a railing for the Michael E Leggiero Memorial Park. We sent drawings to Alloy Casting, and they created patterns, tooling, and castings for the rail. This project was completed in a timely manner and has been only one of several projects we have initiated with Alloy Casting.
Tropical Welding received a contract to extend an existing aluminum rail. The aluminum casting designs on the existing rail were over 20 years old and no longer available. We took down a section of rail, removed the castings, and sent them to Alloy Casting to be made. There were 10 different designs in the rail and all were successfully set up on new tooling and the pieces duplicated. The most challenging part of this project was matching the ‘as cast’ aluminum surface with the smooth extrusion where the two different textures surfaces mated. This hurdle was overcome with the selection of a powder coat. Alloy Casting was able to match the “cast oil rubbed bronze” finish and allowed the two surfaces to blend perfectly. We’ve partnered with Alloy Casting on several projects, and all have been successful.
